Something I need to implement in a website I am working on is linking data to users. my original plan involved some “tweaking” to the DB. a user registered with ASP.NET membership, and then, when the hit the next page, a stored proc kicked off and wrote their unique user ID into a new table, which I had setup, and entered the custom info my application needed in there. I talk about that in the past tense, but in reality its still done this way. I am, however interested in custom ASP.NET Profile Providers, and this one over at TheServerSide.NET may do the job I want it to do.

Also, Arno Nel has a LOAD of links to different sites with info about ASP.NET 2.0 Security, Roles, Membership and Profile Provider. Very handy stuff, and the link above is there too!
