New Server: HP Proliant ML110

A few days ago, i got an email from Elara telling me they had some HP Proliant servers quite cheap. How Cheap? ML110, which is a dual core Xeon, 1Gb ram, 250Gb SATA HDD and onboard RAID for 160EUR! they also have the ML115, an Dual core Opteron box, 512mb ram, and 160Gb hdd for 150EUR... neadless to day, i bought me the ML110. you can check out more photos at the flickr group below...

I was trying to get it to boot off the internal network, but building Windows Install Images using WAIK got me confused, so i just burned the DVD and installed it normally. So far, i have also upgraded the HDD (got a 500Gb for it, bring it to 750gb total) and i also ordered 4Gb more memory, to bring it to 5. it should be a nice Hyper-V host once the memory arrives... :)

Typical! I will be getting paid the end of this week. They'll probably be gone by then. Going to keep my eyes peeled.

When i was down collecting the server, they said they where getting in more. they had a load in stock Thursday, and they have 400 of the opterons now... i was thinking of buying 2 and now i'm starting to wonder why i dident... Next payday maybe... :)

Also Tiernan just for info comments are not working with IE 6.

i should have setup an affiliate link... :) yea, got the memory from www.shop4memory.com. got the hdd from Elara themselves. though they where out of stock after they sold mine... not sure if they are still in... as for the IE6 not working, i will have a look and see if its something i can fix... found it sometimes dont work with IE7 either...
